DIY: Fabric Wreath

Making your own wreath is a great way to add a personal touch to any room. There are so many ways to make a unique wreath. Here is a diy on making an easy fabric wreath. I made this a wreath for my sister ,Adrienne, down in Texas. Enjoy!

Supplies Need:

• Fabric of your choosing - 1 yard is plenty
• Wreath frame - Styrofoam frame will work but for this type of wreath but you can also use a wire frame
• Hot glue gun
• Scissors
• Anything else you want to add to the wreath for decoration

Step 1:

Cut the fabric into strips about 1 1/2 to 2 inches wide (How much fabric you need depends on the dimensions of your frame). Take one strip and out a line of hot glue on the end.

Step 2:

Wrap the strips of fabric around the frame until it is completely covered. 

Step 3:

Add any detail you want to the wreath. I made these tulle and organza flowers to the wreath (expect a diy soon on how to make these flowers) and I cut out the owls from my fabric to add for decoration.

DIY: Yarn Headband

I've been loving yarn lately. There is so much you can do with yarn and it's easy to work with. Here is an extremely easy way to make your own headband out of yarn! Enjoy!

Supplies needs:

• Scissors
• Yarn (any color)

Step 1:

Cut 9 strand of yarn, about 30 inches each. Note: The thickness of your headband depends on how many strands you use and how thick your yarn is. If you want a thinner headband use 6 strands or thinner yarn. If you want it thick use more strands or a thicker yarn. Just make sure the number of strands is a multiple of 3 because we will be braiding the strands.

Step 2:

Tie a knot at the top around two fingers. Make sure the know is tight enough not to come undone.

Step 3:

Divide the strands in to three sections and braid them together. Tie a knot a the bottom of the braid leaving two inches of un braided yarn at the bottom. 

Step 4:

Fit the yarn around your head and tie the loose strands of yarn and loop together and BOOM! You have a cute headband!

Kids Christmas Craft

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know I did. It is officially Christmas season so I thought I would share an easy and cheap christmas craft the my little brother and sister enjoyed doing. My mother bought a set of 40 wooden christmas tree ornaments for children to paint. The set comes with paint and paint brushes to use. I remember painting wooden christmas tree ornaments when I was a kid I know my family still have some ornaments that my mom painted when she was a kid. They are fun and easy to do.

DIY: Yarn Wrapped Letters

Yarn wrapped letters are wonderful decorations and they are so simple to make. They are easy to customize and make your own unique letter. Here are the steps to create this lovely decoration

Supplies needed:

• Cardboard (I used a cereal box for mine)
• Yarn (Any color you choose, thick yarn is better)
• Scissors are X-acto knife

Step 1:

Cut out your letter from the cardboard. Use any font you want but try to use a font that will be easier to wrap yarn around. Try avoiding fonts with sharp corners. 

Step 2:

Put a dab og hot glue on the back of the letter and start wrapping the yarn around. Wrap the yarn around as many times as you like. It really depends on how thing you want it to be.

Step 3:

Once you are done wrapping the yarn around the letter hot glue the end on the back of the letter.

Step 4:

This step is optional. I like to add a little decoration on the letter to give it a nice finishing touch. On this letter a placed a tulle flower I made on the made corner of the letter. I think it gives a really cute touch.

I made this letter for my little sister Lucy. She loved it!

DIY: Fabric Flowers

Fabric flowers are so cute and easy to make. You can create these flowers with almost any type of fabric making it easy to create unique look with your flower. You can use these flowers for many things like heabands, rings, a brooch, and so much more. Here are the simple steps to make your own flower.

Supplies:

• Your choice of fabric - The size of your flower will depend on how much fabric you use. A yard will create flowers between 1- 1 1/2 inches wide. 
• Scissors
• Hot glue or fabric glue - I use hot glue just because its what I have laying around and getting hot glue on my fingers doesn't bother me. If you are afraid of getting your fingers burnt then use fabric glue

Step 1

Cut the fabric in to a strip about 1 inch wide. It doesn't have to be exact so you can just eyeball it if you wish

Step 2

Flip the strip over and place a running line of glue across the bottom half of the strip and fold the top half over the bottom half and press together. Make sure you are putting the glue on hot dog style, long ways, and not hamburger style.

Step 3

Place a 2 inch line of glue at the end of the strip and rolled it together tightly and stop at the end of the line of glue.

Step 4

Start rolling the fabric around the center. Twist the fabric slightly while doing this so you get that great flower look. I like to press the flower between my fingers while wrapping the fabric so the flower stays compact. Place glue where necessary. Make sure you a spot of glue at the end so the flower stays together.

The finished product will look similar to this. You can easily create you own creative spin to your flowers. Like I said before you can make these flowers with almost any type of fabric. Here are some flowers I made with lace.
